My wife and I made a trip up to Mike & Dee Henninger to pick up some deer.

This was the first time we have ever moved deer. It went very well for us.

I would like to thank Mike for giving me the opportunity to purchase a Maxbo Hardcore son. ( Pork Chop )

Mike also sold us three buck fawns at a very fair price to help put some horns on our farm this year.

I was not sure what to expect on my first move. Mike has a very calm heard of deer. As he entered the pen to dart the deer lined up as to

say pick me pick me. This was a great first time experience for us. Mike and his helper darted the deer and moved them to the trailer.

Then his wife Dee give the deer shots to help them with a safe and healthy trip to my farm.

I could not help but notice that Dee also raises some very nice looking yellow lab pups / dogs.

I would have to give Mike, Dee and farm two thumbs up. :) This was a great first time trip.

The deer made the trip very well and are doing great this morning on there new farm where ( Pork Chop )  will be my breeder this year.

Big thanks to Mike & Dee

GREAT news Brent!  I visit with Mike on the phone alot and he's a GREAT guy and a STRAIGHT SHOOTER!

Best of Luck with you and Pork Chops growing season! :)

Brent and Shannon, we enjoyed meeting you both also, We got 4" of fresh snow right after you guys left, I guess that's Iowa weather for ya, hope spring is coming soon.

This was our first time using the BAM II and we had a very positive experience with it. The deer went down quickly and recovered quickly, in only about 10 minutes, we will certainly use it again next time. We hope Pork Chop and the fawns do great for you guys and we look forward to seeing future posts as their antlers grow. Deer farming has been quite an experience for us in our first 5 years, we have had both ups and downs, as everybody else has, but we look forward to many more years in the industry. We plan on visiting Waynes farm this summer and would love to stop by and bring Pork Chop some of his favorite cookies. Hope your fawning season is a success.

Thanks Wayne, we appreciate your compliments. Always enjoy talking with you on the phone, look forward to visiting your farm this summer.

Mike stop by and visit anytime.

I am about 2 hours east of Wayne's farm just off HWY 36.

Wayne has a very nice set up. His farm was the first we visited of many.

When your over that way you should pay Edwin Ropp a visit. He is only a couple minutes away from Wayne.

Edwin has been raising deer a long time.

Looking forward to your visit

That's great Brent. Congrats to you and to Mike. Porkchop looked like a pretty respectable yearling, so please keep us up to date with pictures of him growing this summer. Good luck with him, I hope he turns into a great breeder buck for you.
