Michael, Thanks for the info, But I do have another couple of questions.

My handling facility consist of a 12' wide allyway going into a 13'x10' dark room and then into 4 boxes then my chute.

When I have a chance I will post my handling facility which I find works great for putting in the C'ders I am just trying to figure out how I want to put my deer down for AI. Didnt know if I wanted to drop each one in the chute give them the syringe and turn loose in a 3/4 acre pen and let them go out in there.

1) Could you post a couple pictures of your handling facility?
2) How do you syringe them in your dark room, do you use a pole syringe or just corner them to where they cant move away from you?

Cassie, john ward has a very slick setup for putting his does down for AI. He has a row of boxes roughly 3'x4' with a hole in the top and they give the shot through the hole and let them go to sleep. The outside door door opens and put the doe on the cart. He used to have a video on his website of how it works. Our tame ones we give a shot in the box before the chute and run them through to stalls in the barn. The stalls are all connected with doors and can get around 20 does per side.

John still has a video on you-tube showing what his boxes look like and work.

Here's my next question...i personally did the ai on them. How freakin hard do you have to push to get in the cervix?

Next ...in my research i saw some studies where they used oxytocin to make the cervix dilate and easier to penetrate. Has anyone here ever done that?

You should only have to give a little pressure to break through. When i breed mine i mark my ai sheath about an inch or so and i like to get into the second cervical O before i inject the semen.

AI done, We drop the doe in the shoot gave her the shot let her go in the ally way, did five then we brought them to the AI tech and when he started on the second one we started the next set of five, by the time we brought him two more we were returning with two to reverse.
