Here is a picture of "Gunsmith" a Gunslinger on Rol-on-Bill's 7/8s sister yearling....[/B]

Picture Taken 6-22

There will be a newer picture than 6-22 coming. I am still working on downsizing it on my new camera. To be continued.....

All I said is we are waiting. I would like to share pics to see what others think of the bucks, but then I don't need people who don't understand how a typical framed buck grows looking down on my deer. One of the greats in the industry Dan Kuhns told me that my buck that I am most excited about ( Updraft ) will take time to develop. He told me that he felt Updraft would be a special buck when he matures. And that I had bred that deer very well. He told me to not expect too much the first couple of years and give the buck time. I think Dan knows what he is talking about and I respect his opinion very much.

Updraft as a yearling out scored his sire Big Guy by approximately 25".

I am very excited to see what he will do this year at 2 years of age. But like Dan says, I am waiting until 3 years of age since that is when Big Guy actually became the big buck everyone knows today.

We all need to be patiant on bucks! We are all being spoiled by big yearlings and 2 year olds. Tex was a scrawny 6 point yearling and I mean pencil horn. At 2 he went 148 10 point and no one would of even wanted to shoot him. At 3 he went 267 and started to show himself. Never judge a yearling and give your 2 year olds the benefit of the doubt. I did spray him every day with miracle grow when he came 3 but don't tell anyone we'll keep it are little secret!!! ZZ

Roger, PJ is a typical and I understand the wait thing with him. I would have to wait about 14 days to take pics to be able to see the difference. And Rockstar, good god, he's growing slow, but still showing to a great yearling.

Roger,

We grow some typicals here on our farms. Let me tell you we had the smallest deer in the area 2 weeks ago ( at least in our typicals). The time is now coming and watch out these boys are now on fire. Back to your point on growth. We have a 3 yr old typical bred Doc son that went about 95 @ 1, 145 @ 2, and soon as I get a chance here in the next couple days I will show you what he is doing at 3. He has had a rough year with severe leg injury and pnuemonia but he is looking pretty good. The ONLY trash is one sticker on a g-2 the rest is slick. Sorry I dont have the pictures yet but I will get them on here this week.

ZZ I've been spraying all my bucks the last few days with miracle grow but nothing is happening..........maybe i need to be pouring it on their antlers.:rolleyes::D

Dennis Dennis Dennis, you have to use Texas Miracle grow. ZZ forgot to tell that part. PA and Ohio have too cold of temps for it to work here.

Plus you have to stimulate em with it.  Dc can handle that for ya. :D

Oh Mitch that was tooo funny........poor DC where are you to defend yourself........Well the stimulating thing is too much for me.......I think I might try Viagra.......I heard it makes things grow?!

Mitch, I don't think YOU need any miracle grow after seeing that baby picture...lol

Dennis, make sure that it is miracle grow and not round up. Looks like mine have been hit with it.

Mitch you will never grow up we all know that.........just ask any woman.......if your a male you never grow up;)

Hey Mitch,If it will make,em grow,i can go the distance!!, But i one them you gotta show first! if you quit looking ever few minutes they will grow!!

I cant believe how far we have came in the last 5 years in deer breeding. That buck would have been a stud 5 year old 5 years ago. "AWESOME, AWESOME"

If Marks reads this, congrats, and thanks for allowing pic to be released.
