Dixie you want to give them a little help when they are born.....atleast a lot of farmers do........We give a few shots and also iodine the imbellical (spelling?) cord. this helps to keep it form getting infected..........the shots we give are 3cc's sub q of poly serum, 3cc's of C&D Anti sub q and 3cc's of Barguard orally. you also can give them 1/2 cc of bose as well...........or you can just tag them and hope for the best. just telling you what has worked for us!! Good Luck........if it doesn't stop raining here we are going to have to give each fawn a life jacket as well!!!

I've have gave the EHD shot at birth for the last 2 years with no ill effect. I do it because at 12 weeks I can't catch the buck fawns and they are to small to dart. Is it wrong to do this I don't know but it hasn't hurt so far. I also dart the doe(mother) two weeks before the fawns are born. Just what I do.

Dixie, I had 22 doe fawns last year, all mother raised, and lost none of them. I did the following upon their birth: 2 ml of Alfa-7...1/4cc of Ivomec...3cc of C&D antitoxin...1/4cc of Draxin...Bovine Ecolizer(I forget how much)...unlimited amount of prayer. 
Everybody seems to have their own regiment, just telling you what I used last year. If anybody can help me improve on what I'm doing or not doing, please share.
