Any starting tips would be great. Talked to a indiana breeder a few times an looking at making trips to his farm. Ive been told buy genetics and start small. So any knowledge you can pass on would be great and appreciated.

A little about me- Im a marine thats hunted since about 6 or 7 yrs old an chasing the dream of raising big deer!
 
Yes good genetics is important. Are you planning on raising shooters or just breeder? Big typical or Non? Feed is also important. I use Antler Max 17 Breeder feed. (Textured). Also fence tightness is very important! One day youll have a deer crash into and youll see what I mean. Im bout 2 hrs north east of you. Any questions just holler.

Also if your raising shooters, I wouldnt suggest that you let anyone around pen but you. My Deer know me and doesnt bother then to much when I mow or feed. But if someone else is with me they go ape sh..t.
