Contradiction stacked upon contradiction. I can't waiting to see what information Keith Warren puts out when he films this fall. We have so much at stake right now though. A lot of this is coming out because the new CWD program standards are soon forth coming. The timing of the Sabalow Indy star article was also meant to have national influence and was not just written and directed to the people of Indiana. I fear a PR response this fall may be to late. I wish there was a spot on this forum we could click "don't like this"for that link! I think it might be the top vote getter. I am surprised there is no buffalo hunting in the segment. They had them a bonafide Indian. How about the space suits when they were picking up the deer with the ear tag shot by the hunter in the wild. Then no suits whatsoever when they are sampling wild deer at the check station from which they claimed CWD positives were found??? The ludicrous portrayal of the info is so obvious I think even a low information person will question this garbage.

Typical Wildlife Federation propaganda against any type of commercial hunting. The one guys is worried about the population growing out of control because people won't want to hunt because CWD is found in the area????? If it's so deadly how can that be, wouldn't all the deer just die off anyways?? I would imagine the case numbers would also increase if the population was growing so rapidly in some of these states like WI. How can you have a disease so contagious and horrific and yet a deer population keeps growing so rapidly??? It's sad that so many people can listen to this garbage and not think on their own that it doesn't make much sense. How come it's been around since the 60's (that we have confirmed), and all we have seen is these wildlife populations doing nothing but growing at a record pace in every state that has CWD??? The main reason the number have gone down in most states lately is the number of antlerless tags being over sold and the EHD during the past droughts.

In Minnesota only 8% of the population hunts deer.  15-20% of your insurance premiums are because of road kills of wild deer. this paid by 100% of the population  All this risk and population of wild deer for the pleasure of a few?  Will society tolerate this?

(0,0,0);, ' ', 'Lucida Grande', ;background-color:transparentKorea shut down imports of our beef for years with the finding of one BSE cow.  If Korea sees the research of the prions being able to uptake in plants, and prions are persistent in our soils for maybe 20+ years,  are we potentially poisoning our soils for years to come, causing potential embargoes by foreign countries of our feed grains, beef products, dairy products,etc..?? The Upper Midwest has some of the most productive soils in the world, "The bread basket of the world"!!!   When you get into politics with foreign countries, would this be the hammer some would need to stop doing business with us?  They can say we are to big a risk and buy from Brazil.  What would this do to our Ag economy?

Gary,

I like your thinking

We always need people that think outside of the box a little bit to broaden our decisions

No doubt, Great way of putting it Gary. I really think the real reason they are so concerned about the farmed deer industry is because more and more landowners are thinking, why the hell would I want to feed all the deer supposedly owned by all the people and they never seem to put up a dime to feed em. That's where I started raising deer, I feed a thousand of em on my free ranging farm and our Game fish & parks won't issue more bucks tags because if they have more left over then what the residents apply for, the non-residents can buy those, thus allowing for more commercial hunting, they sit with the Wildlife Federation at all meetings, commission and legislative. Both of these want all the power but they have NEVER brought anything to the table other then all the wildlife belongs to everyone. Well then they can get their checkbooks out and start feeding them on my neighbors, because in the future I may just feed the ones that are MINE and I will fence out "theirs".
