This is our 2nd year of deer farming. We are truly having a great time, not to say we haven't had some tough times! Every day brings a new adventure. I wanted to post a pic of our yearling buck. He was bottle-fed last year and has been healthy so far. (knock on wood) We let him breed our yearling southern doe last year as a fawn and he sired a 8-1/2# buck for us. We are looking forward to watching him and his son grow into big bucks!

Welcome to this little venture of deerfarming. You will find that new things will happen very often. Good luck with your fawn, and not bad for a yearling buck.

Very respectable yearling. Nice typical frame. I am only in my 3rd year, I had a lot of fun watching my 2 year olds grow this year, now that they are done I already cant wait for their next racks, LOL. I had a rough year with fawns and losing my favorite bottlefed buck, but I still cant get over how awesome it is to go into my yard and watch my deer in the evenings, it has been a dream come true for me. Good luck with your farm.

Antlershed sorry to here about your buck, i lost a fawn this past weekend, broken neck. Even with the negitive seeing deer and the relationship you buid is worth it.
