Guys get the chemical on the deer. Make sure if you are misting them not to run a high amount of water through your system, this will only wash off the chemical you have on them. Running misters or sprinklers often can also give the deer pneumonia. We usually run our misters once every 5-10 days. The oil based chemicals will stay on the deer for a decent period of time keeping flies, ticks, midges, horse flies, and maggots away. Once we see flies on the deer again we put out another bucket. This misting system is motion activated so it only sprays when the deer come up. Before I installed this system we lost deer every year. The first year it was installed we lost no deer to EHD and a fellow deer farmer not far away lost over 60. This year another deer farmer not 10 min has lost half of his heard. It seems that EHD is traveling farther north every year. It is not a question of if you will have trouble with ehd or maggots in the horns, but when will you have trouble. Prevention.

Please call with any questions.

Thanks, Travis

Ben, I'm using talstar. I have breeders from tx and ok using 10 guard. I'm not a chemical salesman. So do some homework. I was told that insects could build up a resistance to talstar. They gave me info on another product that I don't have in front of me. I will probably rotate between the two next year.

Thanks, Travis
