Pigs and Deer

We're thinking about 4-H projects for next year. My question is can pigs be farmed near deer? These would not be in the same area, but how far apart should they be etc.? What are the risks to each other? Does anybody have any experience with this?

Funny you mention that Zane. We too are getting a couple pigs next spring. I don't know the answer for your question but I think I remember Sarah from the Dept. of Ag saying something about allowing at least 30 feet between the deer and other animals. Mine are going to be about 150 feet from the fence. I'm sure someone will give us a little guidance.

You see some ranches have russin boar with whitetails, Just wondering how its working out? one guys has been for years so maybe not big deal?????

Pigs will eat the fawns. I know from experience. Lol
