I bought a pneu-dart blowgun awhile back. It came with no instructions. It is pretty simple to operate and stuff, but I have questions about the darts. I sent them an email, but no return contact. I have a syringe to fill the darts, but how much do I put in. Say it calls for 2 CC's of something, do I just out that in and leave the rest of the fill area empty? Do I put something else in there like saline? How does it get injected, just the momentum of the dart gives it enough force to get injected? Or is there presure caused in some other way? Time is running out for me. I should be getting my does soon.

I guess what I am asking, is is it the force of the moving dart on impact that injects the contents, or is there something to push it through the syringe into the deer?

There is a small explosive charge in there that ejects the medicine. On the clear darts you will see it light up on impact. just a little flash

from the website

How They Work

Type C and P darts each contain a small explosive charge which detonates on impact and quickly injects the drug. Equipped without a retention device (gel collar / wire barb) the 1cc dart will typically bounce off and away from the animal upon impact. However, due to the small quantity of fluid, and the rate of injection, the injection will be complete. As an added feature, the dart will "flash" upon impact providing visual confirmation.

Finally got this:

The darts are filled through the dart needle with a long 19 ga. loading

needle and syringe included in the Kit.

The darts are disposable and cannot be re-loaded for multiple uses.
