I''ll do some more reading into areas where they share range as its of interest to me.
The going price for fallow deer down here is about $100 for good ones.A good young red stag might fetch $500 but these can also be bought & soild for less.
The industry has crashed a couple of times & only those who can grow their own feed have a place.I also consider browse as valuable as grasses on my place.I'ts really about getting your carrying capacity right.This also saves on med's,drenches,time etc.
Breaking the worm cycles by fallowing paddocks for at least three months (longer the better) & allowing the browse & grasses to grow flower & seed regularly.This is just as important as the deers health.
At $2 per week per deer,on feed, I'd loose money.
