what kind of fence its need to be build so human will not go thru? 10 feet stone bricks?

Electric fence designed to retain cattle will knock the p!$$ out of ya run three strands from 6" then 24" then 40" get your self some nice wireless surveillance cameras an system and post signs stating smile your on camera an that unless they're with you there criminally trespassing!

just got to get one ( PERSON ) and make exemp. out of him/she , draw the line in the sand , AND STICK TO IT ,

hm...is it legal to have higher voltage fence?

i touched electric fence at horse ranch..not scary at all...less then dog bark collar:)

No It's not illegal to have an electric fence but I promise if you put 7-10 k volts around your pen you know the kind that pops and cracks when weeds get to close it will deter even the average ***** be sure to post signage and warnings. I even carry a civil liability insurance so if somethin happens to an ***** there family can't come get me civilly. Because criminally I'm not doing anything wrong but we've all heard about ridiculous civil suits.

Ezra, who is your insurance carrier? I have only homeowners liability. I have a 5 strand that has three 8' grounding rods; the closest rod is 10 foot from a pond and the rods are 10 foot apart.

That's what I was saying about a surveillance system if cameras a clearly visible around the perimeter of the property with clear signage all you can do is monitor them. Also try to block the view of general public with trees or privacy fence all these things add to initial cost but peace of mind is a very comforting thing! Back to my insurance I have state farm and you can add a umbrella policy to your liability end it isn't exactly cheap but again we are talking peace of mind from idiots and civil suits so what's it worth to you.

Ohh I forgot to mention the umbrella adds a million dollar's in addition to your home owners liability and also for your vehicle.

Ezra, mayby the poster will read this thread but I read that somebody had their insurance cancelled because they raised deer. We use State Farm and a 2nd company; one for this and the other for that.

I see no reason why my insurance would be cancelled... I also have a civil liability through the NRA and this to is just peace of mind!

State Farm..............CANCELED us after 20 years as soon as my Agent found out about us raising deer! Form an L.L.C it will also help protect your farm from IGNORANT people! Who see OUR deer and seem to lose what LITTLE common sense folks have now days!!

Thanks, Wayne. You weren't the only one if I remember correctly. I know specialty policies are out there from "speciality" companies but in my particular case it was an instance of non-livestock. I smelled a rat and dropped the subject when I inquired of the matter.

I was dropped by State Farm as well. If you want piece of mind...I'd get my insurance elsewhere! I'd hate for something to happen and the big wigs from State Farm say..."oh...you have deer? Sorry...we can't pay!" Maybe your agent says it's ok or knows you have deer...but do the big wigs that hold the money that comes your way to pay damages? All the agent really cares about is the commissions off your premiums!
