One question....can deer be around horses but not live with them? Can they just hang around them for a while.

all the amish deer farmers do it. You have to get the deer used to the horses. I wouldnt put them in the same pen.
I know horses will kill fawns. (maybe not all, but I know a few that have) Other than that they seem to get along ok.
In Illinois the state vet has told us that having horses in the same pen as deer will kick you out of the TB Brucellosis program. This is because there if no way to test horses?

Thanks everyone...I just needed to know because we are going away and the place im going has horses and i was just wondering if it would be okay if the deer would just walk up to the horse. They will not be staying with each other and wont be sharing the same pen.
