i have installed 44" shade cloth around my pens. along with predator wire. two questions for those with experience. how long can i expect shade cloth to last, and should i put loose rock around the bottom also? i have 20" of metal predator wire to control digging under fence also. thanks

In my recent experience, your shade cloth will last until the next Hurricane. Seriously, it will last for years if properly maintained.

What's the best wire to put around the bottom of your pens to help keep predators out? Will chicken wire work?

scott.. i have experienced tornados, i believe they lack the rain that comes with a hurricane. but they will destroy more than the shade cloth! i used metal panels and cut them up into strips for my predator control, i was afraid chicken wire would rust out to fast.

Agreed, I have been selling shade cloth for many years now and have seen all kinds of installations. If you apply the cloth properly as stated in other posts it will certainly last a long time but you must apply it right. Give me a call and I will assist you in the best way I have seen thus far. I am not a good typer which is why I said to call, sorry guys, I know my weakness, hahahahaha
