sick buck

Hello,

I have a buck that is panting heavily, very weak, walking with his head downward. I will probably shoot him with Draxin tonight. Do you have any suggestions or ideas of how to help me with this buck?

Did you just find him this way today, or has he been acting different for a longer period of time?

Give him Baytril 3cc ,and Draxin 3cc on different sides.You can dart these meds too. Hopefully not to late !!!I think you all have La200 or something like that up north,that helps too....

Is the buck coughing? if its pneumonia then draxxin is good but you might consider clostrium, I had a doe die with the same symtoms your describing, theres 3 types of clostridium, one type kills fast! within 24 hours. the others give you time to treat , good luck and keep us posted.

The buck died yesterday. I did give him 3cc of draxxin and 3cc of baytril thinking it was pneumonia. But when we cut him open his heart was the size of a football with white lumps inside and out. I got the vet a sample of it and he is sending it to OSU lab to find out what was wrong. Any body see anything like that before. Thanks for the responses.
