Greetings from Texas,

We are not farmers However, we have a baby fawn that's mother died. The fawn is eating from a bottle, but is unable to stand or lift his neck. When he wakes up he will spin in circles and sqeeks. I called Wildlife and they told me to put him outside under a tree where other deer roam and another doe will adopt him or he will die. I can't just lay him out and let him die. What should we do?

As bad as it sounds putting it out in an area were deer are might be it’s best bet. If your not setup to take care of a sick fawn it would be extremely hard for you to do and if it did survive after all the bottle feeding it would be so tame and in afraid of humans I don’t think it would last long. That being said it sounds like it needs some type of fawn paste. Also after you feed it are you stimulating it’s bottom so it will pee and poop? What are you feeding it? And how much?
