I have a total of 11 deer. I have a few of them who seem to have the runs. It is not so bad that I see it running down the legs. But I notice some soft stolls. This has just started in the last few weeks. I have not changed my feed in any way. I have read on this forum not to worry about a soft stoll(that is clumped?). But these stolls are very soft, almost runny. It is not in all my animals. I am uncertain of which specific ones, because none of them act strange and none can be noticeable down the legs. Any suggestions on how to fix the problem? Thank you so much in advance. Todd

Todd. I had this same problem this spring. There was no changes in feed or anything else. There is no grass in his pen which could be a problem if the feed is high protein. what percent protein are you feeding. Our problem was nerves. He was not bottle feed and is very nervous.During the winter he was biting his hair off then came the loose stool. Right know every thing is back to normal. We feed Purina 16 percent year around and only have this problem with this buck. Is there Prozac for deer. We are going to give him something for his nerves. I'm sure Scott will have a solution ?

There is a product made from herbs called Quietex. I have used it before on animals we transported that were CRAZY. It seems to take the edge off of them a bit. The product

is made for horses, but since it is an herbal blend, it should be safe on wt deer.

Todd, This time of year when we begin to get "summer rains" the grass grows really fast. The worm load can increase dramatically over night and cause digestive issues. Worm your deer and repeat the worming protocol in 2 weeks. It is not uncommon to worm monthly when the grass is growing fast and the wether is hot. Also get a stool sample and have your vet do a fecal float to see if worms are present. If you want to start checking the stool yourself, all you need is a good microscope and a saline solution to do the float.

Thank You for the advice. I will do as suggested and I will see what happens. THANKS Todd
