What a bunch of bull!! Its not my fault its the states fault, woe is me, I am the victim type of garbage.

These deer farmers are trying to build legislation/laws right now to protect themselves with no consideration at all to the general public and wildlife.

If you read through very much you will soon se that "they" as a group take no responsibility what so ever for spreading cwd.

Another one, and better not read too much of it. It will scare the pants right off ya.

Terry S. Singeltary Sr. is a joke. If you go to qdma you will see he spreads him doom and gloom to all the people on that site. There are a few that put him in his place most times with the truth and science but when it comes to escaped deer running across the countryside with tags in their ears..Well thats on us and we have to make it a point that this does not happen. Kind of hard to fight them on that!

Years ago I used to read and participate in discussions about outdoors stuff. Fishing, hunting and blah blah. Back during that time was when CWD was looked for and found in southern WI near the university research facility. Oh boy did the outdoor forums open up on deer farms then. I spent endless hours in debate on the outdoor forums then. Most often people were civil but occasionally they weren't. Frankly over time I saw them soften their stance against deer farming. Because I spoke in facts and used public records as my proof of what I was saying. There were of course those who still hated us, and there will always be those. Some folks simply are stupid and can't be taught. Also there will always be those who feel that it is ok to impose ones will on another person without regard to freedoms in this country. An example of one topic I used to show how freedoms can be infringed upon was bow hunting. Most people who bow hunt use whatever bows they choose to use. But some hard liners think only traditional bows should be allowed. No compounds! Stir a debate with one of those ********* and get him ranting how compounds shouldn't be allowed. Then when everyone else says wait a minute what about my choice of how to hunt. Then point out how some choose to hunt inside preserves and why aren't they allowed freedom of choice. Another thing I pointed out was air travel. People get on an airplane in one state or another country and fly wherever they want to go. Without any type of health papers at all. Carrying disease that directly affects human health. Yet we deer farmers shouldn't move our healthy animals WITH certificates of veterinarian inspection? Explain how that works to me. The most pointed example of disease movement I ever saw was the day I noticed a fly and a mosquito inside my aircraft. I was leaving India where just one visit prevents a person from donating blood for a whole year because of all the diseases. Yet that fly and mosquito were making the trip to another country along with me. Flys and Mosquitos ARE the carriers of disease. Should all air travel be banned?

Over time I stopped reading and joining those discussions. Frankly I see it all as a losing battle. Eventually hunting will become banned in all states. Farming in general will be forced to be organic or vegetarian only. The bleeding heart liberals will slowly whitle away at all our rights until we are finally left with no rights at all. It's ok to kill an unborn baby but don't even think about putting a dog on a leash because that is just cruel treatment.

People in general sicken me!

Every spring it is in the news about "abandoned fawns" or "orphaned fawns" being found and some person picks them up. Stupid people sticking there nose where it don't belong! They are not abandoned or orphaned!

Then someone bottle feeds the fawn. Then it gets bigger and the person who raised it don't want it shot so they put a tag in its ear. Then when someone sees it or it does get shot or hit by a car then deer farmers are blamed for "escaped" deer.

Escaped deer....give me a break.......what about escaped cats......they are running all over the place......our escaped deer are doing nothing but enhancing the wild populations out there and the smart hunters I am certian are happy...

Must be you missed this one! Not good press either way!

Pennsylvania Game Commission officials are investigating the source of an unusual deer that they ordered shot in Lancaster County Central Park.

The deer, with a black tail, black behind its ears and numbered tags in both ears, was seen regularly by park staff this past winter, traveling with the park's white-tailed deer herd.

Dennis Warfel, a PGC wildlife conservation officer in Lancaster County, thinks the deer could be a captive Sitka blacktailed deer native to parts of Alaska and British Columbia, or a white-tailed deer in a rare melanistic phase — a state of dark pigmentation.

Park rangers, knowing the current concerns about escaped deer from private deer farms possibly spreading the dreaded deer disease chronic wasting disease, notified the PGC.

The PGC watched the deer, which appeared healthy.

Agency policies dictate that time be given to allow the owner of an escaped deer to notify the state Department of Agriculture — where pen-raised deer must be registered — and for an owner to recover the animal, Warfel noted.

The PGC, after providing that time, ordered that the animal be shot.

"People are hypersensitive right now about it," Warfel said, referring to the CWD scare
