I am being inundated by starlings this winter like I never have before. There is bird crap everywhere and heavy around feeders.  Does anyone have any "tricks" to get rid of these dang birds?  Of course i'm worried about coccidiosis from all these feces around feed and water.

Were having the same problems the flocks keep getting bigger and bigger everyday. I have tried owl decoys and no luck. We rigged up electric wires across the cross braces to fry them buggers we will see what that does lol. We have automatic waterers and Im constantly emptying and cleaning them everyday. I spend more time picking poop out of the feed than feeding the deer.

I'm fighting the same issues, sparrows too, it's like the movie, " The Birds"! Is there any kind of bait that kills the filthy dirty suckers.

A little Goldin Malrin mixed in with some bird feed will work nice. Must be very careful with that stuff thou. Read the directions as its a fly bait and will dispose of anything that eats it. Word has it that its strong enough to take out the bird and then take out whatever eats the bird just by the amount of poison that was in the bird.

Very useful stuff but very dangerous stuff.

Listen the single handed best way to rid your bird problem is remove the food only feed at dusk and clean everything up before dawn. This is very inconvenient but very effective!

You might be able to get USDA APHIS to come and do something. This is their Wildlife Services unit. They trap nuisance bears for example and will do something with starlings in the winter. It doesn't hurt to talk to them.

i have heard the 12 gauge works good with dove loads once you kill a few they get fewer and fewer i,am infindated with white wing doves at least you can kill your problem  mines protected fricking doves everywhere going to shoot as many as possible in september whatchj out the black ravens or crows will move in next on your feed the best idea i seen is no feed during the day Troy
