Santa Fe is nice, but more expensive to live in. I would prefer to go a little way outside of Santa Fe myself, like around Vages.

Update about having deer in NM. I called the New Mexico game and fish today.

To have deer I have to have a class A park licence, which is $500 a year, so not that big a deal. Just have to have the property approved. Then to emport deer here from out of state, NM will not allow the importation of any deer from east of the Texas Panhandle. Any farm that they are to come from has to be negative for CWD for at least the past 5 years, kept detailed records for at least the past 5 years, and cannot be closer than 80 miles to the nearest CWD quarenteened area.

All that is fine by me though, I don't want any chance of bringing in CWD deer anyway. I don't want to deal with such.

She said of course, the best thing would be to try and purchase deer from a farm here in New Mexico, however she did not have any kind of list of farms, and google does not bring back any of the farms here.

So this brings me to; does anyone know how to get in contact with any of the deer farms in NM that may have bottle fed deer for sale next year? Does anyone have a farm west of the TX panhandle that may fit the criteria listed above? If so please send me an e-mail with contact information so that if I do decide to go ahead and start a deer facility I can start looking into what is out there for purchase. Thanks again everyone.
