5 year old buck having trouble with cude sticking in jaw? vet checking it so far no bad tooth and I think they filed some teeth? any way anyone ever had this happen or know what could cause it. thanks

Had that years ago with a tame doe. Don't know why but I would had to stick my finger in to dig it out. The hay would ferment and give off a terrible

stink. Seemed she did this often and I blamed it on the hay that was very dusty and found it was grown next to a dusty gravel road. Never happened

after buying my hay grown next to a blacktop road.

Called impacted jaw not sure what causes it but once they start best thing I have heard is to put them on a pellet feed and dry hay not green grass

Tim, Are guys coming to the fundraiser next weekend?

yes, me and mike 4 sure I think Janie is coming too her daughter is going to watch the farm. and we will be a Johns memorial the next Sunday also. hope

all is a well with you and yours...Tim

I've had it a few times and it was always with a broken jaw on the ones that I knew what was going on. There wasn't any evidence in most of them with a broken jaw but they couldn't fully open their mouth so grass and other vegetation couldn't get pass the teeth very well. Even had beans in one impaction. One died but I had her x-rayed first. The break was back where the lower hinge was. Couldn't pry her mouth open much. She was gentle and I could get it out but it only lasted about a day. Had a doe that would get an impaction and it would finally clear itself then she'd start another after a week or so.

I guess you didn't make it to the fundraiser nor John Roses memorial service. I hope all is well with you guys.
