I have a great Bucky/Max buck fawn we are bottle feeding and his tail is chewed up pretty bad. I have him in a pen with other fawns, but no other fawns show this problem. I'm wondering if he's not doing it himself. Has anyone here ever experienced this problem and if so, what is a good remedy to stop it.

I assume he is bottle feed? I would also say one of the other fawns is doing it when you are not around. Separate him for a while. Some say you can spray vinegar and other things if you want to try that search the topics and you can find all kinds of ideas. If he is stil with momma then she is doing it. Some does do, and I don't know why.

Yes, he is bottle fed, big healthy and full of himself. If another fawn was doing it, I would think I would see signs of it on the other fawns. His ***** is also a little swollen, and I'm wondering if that isn't caused by the same thing. He has been wormed, and had all his shots, so don't think that is a problem. I have been putting an antibiotic creme on his tail and started yesterday spaying him with viniger. I guess I should put my survellience (spelling) camera up and see what I can find out.

I would seperate him for sure if you can........he is definitly being sucked on and if his tool is swollen that can get infected and be deadly to the fawn........it is hard getting them to not suck on each other.......some people use the vineger.......Good luck....but i would not let it go...........
