I have been saying things in the economy have been turning for the good but people just aren't listening to what I have been saying. I understand there is a delay process in people getting their jobs back, and seeing the stock markets rebound. Everyone wants to see the proof positive that things are turning.
But folks I am telling you the world cargo markets are moving! I have been getting emails from friends telling me to, "Stop playing around with those darn deer and get out here flying."
Apparently everyone at my company is breaking guarantee each month and they are getting burnt out with all the flying they are doing. (FYI, breaking guarantee means they are flying more each month than what the company pays them even if they do zero flying. Contractually we get a set amount of pay just for being at the ready for the company. And that set amount is a fair amount of hours so to say they are breaking guarantee is not a small thing.)
For example in 2008 I never once hit guarantee. Now these guys (yes there are women also) are consistently breaking it.
Also my company has just taken delivery of another new aircraft and they are looking at adding at least 1 more this spring.
Why do I post this?
Because everyone needs a lift. Winter is dragging on, prices have been soft, and everyone needs a boost of energy. I don't say these things to help potential sales at some auction coming up. Fact is I have nothing to sell in any auctions coming up.
I am excited though about returning to work. I can't wait to start class in May. Well, back to the books.
