This is a picture of my bottle fed doe fawn--Maxi (a Max Neiss daughter)--from last year just after she had her fawn. I actually pulled it out of her cuz after watching for 15-20 minutes it looked like she had given up and it's quite warm here. The fawn was still in the same position. So I grabbed his legs and pulled. Had to pull twice and got him out!!! WOW!!! I used to pull alot of calves back growing up....never thought I would pull a fawn out.

This sure makes me feel I did my job raising her when she lets me get that close. The pictures are just minutes after he was born since I had to go back to the house and get the camera....course had to watch a few minutes cuz I was so amazed after it all happened!!

With 16 fawns right now, I was feeling a little stressed....but this just brought everything full circle for me now.

CONGRATULATIONS SUSAN !! Great Job !!

We had twins born this morning. One pied and one brown...both does. Pictures are posted on the pied and white thread in Antlers bar and lounge.

Susan, that is awesome. I know Laurie has felt pride having done the A/I to produce a set of fawns, then bottle fed those fawns, then did the A/I on the doe when she was old enough, and then bottle fed those fawns. And the circle keeps turning.

You just take it all in and enjoy it Susan!

Thanks Jack and Roger.....she may have had him on her own, but I was there, she is very tame and my gut told me to get it out for her. She's the smallest of my bottle feds from last year so we are very surprised she even bred and that fawn was big. I expected a little pip squeak.

Maxi was really attached to me as a fawn....wouldn't take the bottle from anyone else all summer but me.

We knew she was close cuz her bag doubled in size yesterday and I was going out to the pen to pull a doe fawn and noticed Maxi wasn't with the rest. Talk about timing.

He's up and sucking and she's be a good mama.....so all is good.:)

PS....that buck fawn weighed 9lbs!!!
