We split one yesterday between to farms. Last doe at one farm frist doe at the next. The seman was in heat pad for one hour and 10min. it lood good under scope.

we will be checking back on her next sping see if she took 2 AI.

We just Aied today and we split several straws....while i have heard semen will stay alive for a while......we like to have our doe that we are splitting the straw coming through the chute back to back....the least amount of time the better if you ask me.........Anytime we have done it with a vet there we did the same thing......so i would say to do your best to have them lined up one after another in the chute whne splitting straws.........be interested in seeing how deeronfarm does this spring with the straw being un thawed for so long between usage.........hope it works!!! Good Luck to all......I AM SO GLAD IT"S ALL OVER FOR ANOTHER YEAR!!!!!!!

We had one straw that was thawed for five minutes, the second doe would not go into the chute. Hope it sticks

I was reading a forum on this but I believe it was horses. The guy checked a straw every day for ten days and they were still swimming. fresh stuff though.
