Time is Right for Agriculture to Take on Deer

Before Ohio moved to Ag, the DNR proposed immediate 100% TB, Brucellosis and CWD testing on farms, no exclusions. Preserves would have ended up testing 100% of their hunter kills. They would have gotten what they wanted if we hadn't moved to Ag. Now, under Ag, farms do not have to get in the TB/Bruc. programs and preserves are testing 30%. Not only that but they were given 2 years to start their CWD testing. Look at Missouri and you will see how much moving to Ag really means to Ohio and to this industry.

Moving to ag dept is the smartest thing any state could do. I would not do to much complaining about Ohio. If think its bad just go accross the border to the west

I think the checking tag thing every 3yrs is part of the new federal rule for enrollment requirements in the accreditation program. I don't think it has much to do with a specific states AG dept rules or conservation dept. Each state has their own requirements for movement within states lines. I am not sure about Ohio. Doesn't every state require a 3 year physical tag check now if the herd is enrolled in the CWD accreditation program?
