I am alway's looking over pedigree's and then more pedigree's to try and see what make's it all work or how this came from that. Alway's looking to try and decide what is the best genetic's out there to use. The more people I talk to the more I hear ( I use this buck because of this doe ) or I should say the more people I talk to that are raising big deer. The one thing all of them seem to have in common is that they stress the power in the doe, not the buck. So I was wondering what some of you feel the top doe's of all time are. What doe's would you want in the pedigree's of the deer on your farm or what doe's would you like to add.

Without question:

86C -Gladiator dam

Black 1 - 4M Superdoe

B 37 - daughter of O105, poncho full sister

Y 27 -Maxbo Dam

Superdoe -Shadow dam

Pebbles - Flees

O2 - Danger, Ranger, Stranger dam

Some I'm probably leaving out but this is my list

Yep I gotta agree with those as well.

Especially Black 1, and Superdoe...I would probably also add Highrollers "Holly" to the list.

Indiana Pride Doe AGN Queen Probably more 300" sons than any other doe

Boomer Doe Y-27 Maxbo's Mother

Boomer Doe Y-26 Martygraw's Mother

Boomer Doe Y-35 Super Doe

Flee's Curley Doe Daisy Mea Bucky and BJ's Mother

Flees Budde Doe Y-0294 Maxbo XL and Chance's Mother

BJ-1 Doe B-37 Hardcore's Mother

Peach Doe O-2 Maxbo Ranger, Stranger, and Danger's Mother

Poncho Doe R-97 Many son's as breeders across the country

Any double PSU J-44 Doe In most all of Griffith Brother's Big Breeders Pedigrees

Not just what THEY produced, but also what their SONS produced as well.

I'm sure there are plenty I left out, these are just off the top of my head.

So many great super does!!! But here in Pa there is one super doe that is by far and beyond the best and that is RED 16 powerballs mother, not only has she thrown 300 and400 bucks but all here daughters have and so far granddaughters have!!!! Ive talked to wilmer martin red 16 s owner many times and that girl produces!!!! john ervins fastball kennen hardcore riot crownmaker and dutchboy to name a few!!!!! And powerball has huge sons like mojo in florida and josh newtons big yearling!!!!! Another super doe here in Pa is Harmony from jake glicks farm, mother of climax amongst others!!!

I aways like these posts, that hopefully make people think.

When you think through the great number of does that are "great" what is the criteria?

Another question to answer is what are my goals. Do you have a buisness plan.

Are you just dreaming or is there a specfic reason you are thinking about a particular doe?

Answer this for me what is the reason this doe makes your list? ie, marketability, pedigree, production, hype, uniqueness, genetic traits she passes down, over all score of sons, etc.

Black 1, 86C, blue 37, R16, Blue 510, super doe, Holly....

These are my favorite. Super does not only produce big sons but also daughters who should out produce there dam!! Very few out there have daughters like them that are producing as well as them or better!

I keep the list of does pretty small, and close to home.

Angela, now 13 years old. mother to Amos, Mother to Green 61, the largest Maxbo yearling ever owned by Rusty Karr. Grandmother to Auggie, Amazon, Alvin. Great Grandmother to Arty twice. Her daughters have "all" produced exceptional sons as well.

She passes on tine length, with a son and grandson having tines over 17 inches. All her down line offspring are extemely calm, and the ability to successfully AI off the charts.

Rhonney, was purchases when she was old. she produced her best son Auggie when she was 15 years old. she produces great tine lenght, and beam length. Her sons have always been bigger than their fathers. She has only one living son, Auggie and one living daughter, Yellow 587. But have been and are several down line offspring on the maternal side.

Paris is a daughter of J.R. a Walks Magnum son. She is the mother to Star Gazer and the grandmother to Amazon. She has had only one other son a 6x6 200 inch 3 year old. she is the mother to Deluxe, Amazon's mother. Paris has several daughter and granddaughter. there has been a shortage of sons in this line but I am not worried, they will come.

The Dan Weaver Doe. The doe that put Dean Borntrager on top of the industry.

Delilah one of only 2 direct Dean's Moose daughters. Powerful production here.

Xenia, is Ace's full sister has always been a great producer, but as of late her daughters are produing beautiful typical sons being used a breeder bucks, pretty cool.

That is my short list, all these doe lines are right here at home.

POF Pretty Girl- three Great sons out of PA Geronimo, Maxbo, and U-Turn. She clicked with different genetic so this proves power to me.

G-108- Is a Little Boomer doe that is showing up in a lot of big pedigrees.

Y-7- is Reggies dam and Pretty Girls dam so obviously there is power there. Look at Cardiac Kid and the Pin Oak Bucks I mentioned above.

POF Kiwi- has jumped up on our list with her first son being POF Right-A-Way 245+ @1

I stuck to doe lines on my farm and on Pin Oak Farm because this is what we believe in and what we have producing for us right now!

Then again I have heard that you are just one Flees doe away from proving your herd sire a Super Sire! ;)

Matt, I like your comment that: "I stuck to doe lines on my farm and on Pin Oak Farm because this is what we believe in and what we have producing for us right now!"

How many folks have that much faith in the line or lines they are using? and stick to them and don't chase the "HYPE" and get distracted by the latest and greatest new fad!

I bred with him this year on my farm!;)

Black 1 Texas super doe...... She produces, her daughters produce, and her sons and grandsons produce. There are many great does but the black one line I think will most likely have the total most inches......

do tell more ????

When we bought a bunch of does about 4 years ago we concentrated on 3 lines.

One was the HighRoller line, one was the PA Geronimo and J44 line and one was the Patrick/Thunder/Avalanche line (through AGN Queen and others). We bought 7 does that had 300 inch sons on the ground. Then we added the max line and some texas genetics later through Maxbo, Maxbo 727 and others. We also invested in some Flee genetics.

One doe that was really good for us and shows up in a ton of pedigrees was Red 8, Waylon and Waldos Mother. I guess you would call her the HighRoller line since she is out of Pink 2 on the bottom. She was Kuhn's Chief on top. He was Duke over Pepsi and also the sire to Sneakers. I'm not sure where all that started.

It just so happens she is for sale on Whitetail Exchange this week. She is 11 years old and A.I. bred to Cardiac Kid.

Since the topic was foundation or super does, I just thought I'd bring that up. We are only selling her cause we already have fawns from that same cross. She has A.I.'d every year we have owned her! . :)

I really shoudn't be on here responding to who I think the best does are.

I have been burned sometimes for my comments. There is to many does to say that they are the best producers. This is just my opinion and only my opinion.

Me, My self, believe that Mark Sipes doe YB40 and her 4 quad daughters are the best producing does in the industry. It don't really matter what semen or live breeding you put in these does, they just make it happen. Please, this is just my opinoion. I forgot about Bessie, who is now on my farm live breed back to XWL Tombstone.
