I am a new member to the Deer Forums and wanted to comment on a supplement that pathfinder has. He had a post on the forums looking for a few farms to try his product. I first heard of this product from Larry after we did some business on Whitetail Exchange last summer. I have never been one to believe in some miracle cure for an animal. I have lived and worked around animals my whole life. My dad owned a dairy farm and he put me to work feeding baby calves when I turned seven. Over the past 24 years I have seen a lot of sick animals. Almost every time you see an animal get so sick that they can't get up, they seem to die. I started raising deer four years and decided to try Larry's stuff after I talked with him. I wanted to comment on Larry's supplement because I feel there really is something to it. I had a few cases where I can't explain how the deer lived, and have to hand it to Larry. I really feel like this supplement may have saved them.
One case I had was a doe that got really sick. I had just received the first bucket of his supplement a few days before I noticed her feeling bad. This doe was fairly calm but wouldn't let me get closer than 15 feet normally. She had been nursing a fawn and I noticed she had lost a little weight. She quit nursing and got really sick on me. When I walked up to her she didn't get up. She got so sick she couldn't stand up. I picked her up and helped her to water and feed. I gave her an antibiotic and pretty much wrote her off. I have never seen any animal get that sick and weak ever live. I put some of Larry's stuff in her feed and left. When I came back that afternoon I expected her to be dead. I went to her and she was still alive. I helped her around again and figured she would die that night. Next morning she was still alive and once again I helped her to some feed and water. This went on for a few days and when she was able to get up on her own I noticed her at the feed trough eating every bit of Larry's stuff that she could. It has been around seven months since I found her in that bad of shape and she is still alive, gained all her weight back, was able to finish raising her fawn, and bred her this past fall.
Another case I have seen was a fawn with a snake bite. I noticed one of my fawns not looking so good one day. When I got a little closer to him I noticed his nose and mouth didn't look right. I knocked him out to take a closer look and doctor him. His top lip was so bad that you could look though this nose and see the bottom of his jaw. He had a huge hole in this top jaw. He had been bitten by a snake and it had deteriorated a hole in this top jaw. This fawn was being nursed by a doe and was only about a month and half old. I gave him a shot and woke him up thinking there is no hope for him. I isolated him from the other deer, ground up some feed and added some of Larry's stuff to it. I expected him to live maybe a day or two at the very most. When I came back to check him the next day, he had eaten all of Larry's stuff and a little feed. Over the next few days I kept plenty of ground up feed, water, and this supplement for him. He was weaned at only a month and a half, snake bit, and practically dead. This fawn now is healthy and still living with nubs on his head.
I can't explain the doe and fawn I had, or how either one of them lived. The only thing I was doing any different from normal was feeding them Larry's stuff. This supplement is just a top dressing for your feed. I believe it has some natural plant extracts or something that helps in the healing and immune systems of the deer. I really think there is something to this product. I can't explain to you how bad the two deer really were, but they are both alive and healthy now. I plan on continuing to use this product and see how it helps me during fawning season. Thanks Larry, you're on to something here.
