Hi,

Does anyone one know about trail cameras?

I do not know if I just want to put up some cameras or just go surveillance.



I want to have something in my pens so that I .... I can check on my babies at night or if I am not home.



I have a Bass Pro Shop, they think I am crazy. Might be. Besides the point.



I want to check from my phone or Internet. I was told that a trail cam was just as good, then i was told I just needed surveillance.



What do y'all have and why?

What would I look for when I am looking around for a camera.

If I view it on line, or the cam stays on or online, will it eat up my plan? (Internet)

What are you using now, if any?

When will you get some babies on the ground?
 
I use a DLC Covert trail camera to keep an eye on one side of my pen. It sends pictures to my phone when something trips the motion sensor. It is set up through AT&T. They are the weak link in the process. It drops pictures and I lose the single fairly often. With that said the Camera is great and gives me peace of mind. If I had electricity to my pens then I would go with a surveillance camera that I could dial up and look at what was going on in and around my pens whenever I wanted to check them. It would take several trail camers to cover my pens and the cost would probably equal the cost of the surveillance system.

I believe your best bet would be a CCTV surveillance system linked to a computer then you could always go to a link online and check the pens day or night and the also record for like 180 days so you could always review what's been goin on. This is the setup that we will have when we get up and going!!!
 
This is what I just purchased from Amazon. I haven't installed it yet but it allows you to view the live feedsfrom your phone or computer. Also, the cameras are upgraded so the night vision is better. You will probably need lots of extra wire though. I researched this very thoroughly prior to my purchase.

I don't personally have this set up yet but will and have friends who have it It's pretty cool he also has one camera that you can pan around pretty cool. Hope we've given you some insight!
 
Remi I run a full zmodo system to watch my pens and my property all windows show on one screen or I Can just veiw one camera or four or eight or all sixteen I can also see over the net with my smart phone or laptop

I'd look into surveillance 1080p HD cameras.  I've spent thousands on trail cameras, 1/3 of them I have taken straight back to to the store.  I've always bought mid range $175-250 cameras and only had 1 last over a year.  I've thrown and given several away because they only worked part time or not at all.

I still love my Defender.  When I work out of town, I can view my pens with my cell phone.  Sometimes I can even see my wife doing MY chores!
