trouble with fawns

Mitch P said:
The times I`ve experienced this was on mother raised fawns with alot of wet weather. When i`ve had it with bottle babies I always hit with Baytril and if I haven`t had a culture yet I start my bottle babies on SMZs till I find out what it is , Ecoli and Coccidia may look similar early on and the SMZs will treat both . Just my way . :)

Its seems the last couple of years now the weather has been against us here in Pa !! No exceptions this year, been raining every other day for weeks now!!! hearing about alot of cases of coccidia, pens are swampy, a recipe for trouble!!!! hope everyones fawns get well!!!!

Sorry to hear of your problems. Remember, you can always contact Scott Heinrich or Dr. Joe Ables for advice on the type of antibiotics they would use.

Don't forget in your currently frenzied situation, to do some searches of this board. There are many great posts re SMZs, etc.

Good luck, I'm pulling for you. You're a smart guy with a good attitude and you will rock this!
