Typical or Non-Typical?

I want them both!!!
But if I had to pick one, it would have to be A. That is assuming his sons would be big wide typicals as well, therefore easier to sell as shooters.

A gets my vote. I love typicals. The only thing that hurst typicals is that no body can pass up and absolute gaint of an eight point with 13+ G2s and G3s but the breeder is going to get the shaft when sellin bc the buck my only go 150". I just have this thing for huge 8s
My vote is for the typical. I agree with Wicked. I think if typicals have "the look" you should get a better price for them when selling.
Wow the pole results are 100% typical. I bet it changes when Sam posts a pedigree of the two bucks!
I voted Typical, but when I see the pedigree I bet I'm star struck with big names and change my opinion. Its amazing how names sell even if everyone likes a no name buck better.

The 2 pics Sam posted are not actually a fair comparison though. Of course we are all drawn to the wide frame on that typical buck. But if that non-typical was as wide and had the same long brows matched on both sides as that typical does it would have a whole different look to it.
My personal preference in looks is a large typical frame with extras up high and maybe some drops. What I mean by the extras up high is not a bunch of trash around the bases and brows. I also don't like "clumps" of bone like the pictured non-typical has near the end of his beams. Sorry to pick on your deer Sam But I assume in this case your cool with it.
A deer should have a frame and still look like a deer, but have some extras for character.

Matt, your right people probally would change their mind because of a name.. That is one problem we have in this industry. This is why 1% of the breeders are dominating the breeder market. There are handful of leaders and a hell of a lot of followers. Livestock breeders, breed for characteristics they favor. Lets look at how this business started years ago. People like gene flees were raising deer and breeding for the best they could find. He line bred his deer and within that line bred for characteristic. This is why Flees does are so strong.. They don't have any holes in their background.
I would go with b i like a nice typical frame with lots of extra's to make them nontypical plus if you are selling by the score you will never match typ. With non. Breed that non with a great typ. Doe and you are gonna get a nice frame with junk
That's why I said I want both. Breed typical to non typical does and non typical with typical does. Then hope you get that big frame with some extra stuff, kind of like a Sundowner. That would be the plan anyway.

A,wide and typical.Big framey,wide,typical bucks are what hunters want and also they look like real whitetail.Just my opinion.
