Yeah agree with you on Fred's line great producer width tine length and mass. They really have it all I have some of the ace line and love it.
I also have to pick the A-TEAM, and I feel so strongly about what they can do that my whole herd is A TEAM genetics ( 32 breedable does and only 5 NON A TEAM). JIM SIMONSON

The A team had a buck called Amos. Amos's mother was a doe from Dale Kremstreiter. There is some of the influence I alluded to in another topic discussion in these forums.
Rock solid foundations from some of the very best lines in WI were the Kremsreiter, Radies, and Van Asten lines. Ah if history was truly known about these lines.

If you are in minnesota, one thing you must be "lost". But if you have time go visit Jim. see that side of the "A" Team. Consistancy says alot for his deer, having a beautiful look that whitetail should have.
Jerry Lee. I hope you have the LARGEST arty son so I have to buy some semen from him and breed him here at home.
There are going to be a bunch of Arty son growing this year. It will be great fun for me to watch them grow too.

Many many bucks fall into that underated heading.. I believe you more that are underated vs overated. Amos would definitely fall into the underated.
Well I would have to say the Dane line is one that comes to mind for me. There are not to many Dane daughters or granddaughters left. Howard Millers Hugo was no accident, in my opinion he was the result from a good breeding top and bottom from that line.
The A-Team has been way underrated as a whole and on the maternal side Angela is a super star. I truly hope she has many more good years to produce for Fred. Bucks like Arty and Archer speak for themselves and are once in a lifetime animals.

DD whitetails, G O Whitetails and Antlershed....you guys are on to it for sure. You all three have pointed out lines that ALL have a common denominator - RATCHET !! If I am correct "Redoy Ben" is really Ratchet. Andy Foor I believe had used Ratchets twin brother, but I forget his name. So to make it simple, Ratchet is the lineage that helped make up the base for all three of those farms and their bloodlines. Ratchet can be found in many great bucks that you mentioned including Texas Tea. Ratchet was the basis of the Goodman Foundation developed by Mickey Goodman. Ratchet can be traced WAY BACK. Some of the most consistant genetics will included Ratchet on top and bottom.
I listened to Dr. Kroll speak last year. He said in his opinion, Redoy Ben was one of the greatest sires of the breed. That says a lot coming from him.
Mickey Goodwin posted a thread last year,clearing up the Rachet ,Redoy Ben controversy. Rachet and Redoy Ben are womb brothers they are out The Goodwin Buck. Andy Foor bought Rachet as a yearling.Rachet and the Legend line have been Andy Foors primary breeders for years ,he does not do the breeding market BUT he is still growing as good of deer as anyone.THIS LINE OF DEER ARE STOUT just not marketed.Andy shoots better deer than i can grow . Stickers is a son of Redoy Ben and the sire to Texas Tea,Tea's dam side is double bred Freedom doe .Freedom is a Rachet son.

bsbeasley, thank you for correcting my mistake. I have realized that I had the twins backwards. SO, Andy Foor used Ratchet in his breeding program and Roy Yoder bought Ratchets twin and named him Redoy Ben. In any case, those twin bucks have done a lot for deer farming. Mickey Goodman deserve a lot of credit for those boys.
I had heard that Ratchet and Redoy Bens dam was a wild doe from PA. She was brought to the Goodmans as a fawn by the department of conservation to be rescued because the mother was killed. I often see in pedigrees that their dam was a bucky doe. Does anyone have the real story?

Talking to Micky and others I was told it was a PA Wild doe.........I don't know who would know any better than Micky Goodman......but I'm going with what he says.....

As far as I have ever known, the "BUCKY DOE" in the pedigree was put in there by Roy Yoder to "camoflauge" the pedigree and give it a better name than it originally had ( which was a PA wild doe, I think). The problem is that the pedigree didn't need any help. BUT, Dennis is correct, you should talk with Mickey Goodman to get the truth about this story. Mickey had posted a blog on here a while back explaining the truth about Redoy Ben and where he came from. Apparently Roy Yoder and Ben Coblitz (Spelling?) had purchased the buck directly from Mickey. I won't say anything else because it needs to come directly from Mickey Goodman. I won't post his phone number on here but if you PM me I don't think Mickey would mind me giving it to you to tell his story.
BUT, I can say that neither Roy Yoder nor Ben whatshisname has ever taken a stand to contradict these accusations. You would think if they were false they would have been pretty ticked off that someone would say such a thing.
In my opinion there are two kinds of people in this business...ones that are honest and give credit where credit is due and others that will do anything they can to make themselves look good - at any cost! I have dealt with Mickey Goodman and Dennis Duffy...both these guys are honest guys and great deer farmers.
