Wow, Maxbo Extreme sells higher than High Roller. Didn't see that one coming.

What other suprises have you guys seen in the last couple of weeks on the Whitetail Exchange No Reserve Auction?

The typicals are starting to have a craze but at the same time a beautiful 200" @ 3 7x7 no trash only went for $210 and another 193" @ 3 6x6 clean as can be went for $130!! Is there a craze or not? No name No money? Pretty Boy Floyd is staying up there. Anyone else surprised about anything??

I know that all semen prices are down. I have mixed feelings on this. The new online auction I think will hurt semen sales. It is flooding the market with cheap semen and it will kill semen sales on the farms. With the economy bad people are buying cheap semen now and the big farms are going to hurt.. They will not release the high end semen as much because of it not bringing any money. Are the people buying the cheap semen that people are dumping online backing up instead of going forward. I know that the semen at the live sales are extremely off what it should be.

I think it is just the supply and demand thing. The online auction makes it much easier for the small guy to buy and sell things without the expense. Its not just the big farms that have big bucks, now it is easier and cheaper for them to get their product out there.

Exactly! I believe that with the online auction people now have easy access (one click of a button) to all different types of semen, where as before people would go to an auction and only see 10 or so lots of semen all out of big name deer with big price tags. Now they are sitting in front of a computer and able to buy semen off very nice deer without the big name and big price tag. Depending on what your end game is, this could work for you. Sure, you get what you pay for, but most of these deer are capable of producing nice deer for you, but they're not going to bring big dollars for you at an auction, but that dosn't mean they can't bring big dollars for you off your farm. The anlters on the head don't lie, and if you grow big bucks, people will buy them. You prolly won't grow the next million dollar deer, but the odds of doing that anyways are slim and none.

I think we are going to see some new no name bloodlines with big bucks poopping up. I think this is what industry needs to keep growing. It will be nice to see some new names in the industry. A lot of these no names are bigger than any of the bucks 5 or 6 years ago.
