Richard, i understand your point of wanting to keep up with bucks that you have invested in, we all try to do the same thing. And when a breeder asks on this forum how a buck is looking or doing this year i think we are all interested in hearing and seeing updated pictures and flattered that people are thinking of our bucks. I was just wondering why the IS he dead question every time?? It is just negative or an attempt at gossip. When a buck dies it is pretty common knowlwedge on this forum and throughout the industry , i dont think anyone is trying to hide the facts for any reason. Last year when we lost Ebenezer we let everyone know right away on the forum before breeding season so they could make their AI decisions accordingly, bucks do lose alot of steam once they are gone. I think most breeders would do the same. As for keeping up with bucks you have bought semen from, Im pretty sure if you have invested in semen and spent money with a breeder and would like to see the progress of that particular buck all u would have to do is email the breeder and he should be more than happy to email you pictures. Many breeders dont like to post pictures early on the forums, they are not trying to hide anything, they just feel it is not the right timing or stage in the growth period to post the pictures to best represent that particular buck and that should be their call, they have the most to lose. Who are we to judge or speculate. As for keeping up with your posts, i really dont, just notice that same question every time????? I guess if you ever have a big breeder you might feel the same way, flattered if people ask how he looks, or ?????? if people ask if he is dead. IM sure if in the fall you are seriously looking at using any of these bucks in your program the owners would be happy to share photo's, pedigree's and any other relevant info with you. But asking continuosly about every deer in the industry and where the pictures are in june is just childish. Sorry
