Where is SCI in regards to our CWD fight?

This is a serious question that I've been thinking of, but I do NOT want this thread to turn into a drama laced b!tch session. I'm not sure this is the best forum to discuss this, but I thought it would be the quickest way to generate feedback from numerous farmers across the country.

I recently got my SCI membership renewal in the mail today, so it made me think of this question. Does anyone know where and or if SCI has placed themselves in regards to our CWD fight? I know many of us have supported SCI as they are the only national/international organization that recognizes animals on our side of the fence as legitimate. I also know that many of us have paid for and have become SCI scorers as well. Personally, I haven't heard any news at all as to where they stand, or if they've taken a stance regarding CWD on either side of the fence.

If anyone has any factual information about this I and I'm sure many others would appreciate your sharing.

Thanks.

Michael I can not speak directly for SCI ,but every time we meet with with their representitive Nelson Freeman he has always stated to us that SCI has taken a stance to support High Fence Hunting. They have taken some heat for that ,but they have made the decision to support us. I dont think they have changed their decision.

I think SCI in general takes the position that all hunters should take but don't. Defend all types and styles of hunting regardless if it is YOUR OWN PERSONAL type or style. Because to begin compromising what types and styles of hunting is "alright" begins the slow and steady shift towards the complete elimination of ALL hunting.

That is correct - SCI does support high fence hunting along with all types of hunting. We use the SCI scoring system for our hunting ranch because SCI allows high fence hunting trophies in their record books, B&C does not. The two scoring systems are nearly the same, so it really doesn't change a lot, we just want to support organizations that support us.
