Anyone have any ideas on week old fawns acting wobbly or falling sideways. Weathers been cloudy, cool and pouring or damp but dont think thats it. I noticed some creamy white poop piles, like milk but chunky too, with in close  vicinity of each of these fawns also! Theyre all on their mothers. Thanks   Eldon

The symptoms you describe could be(Cryptosporidiosos).  It is a parasite very similar to coccidia.  Don't really know how to test or treat for it.  You can try to google it or better yet ask your vet.   I have a friend of mine that may be dealing with it right now.  He has lost multiple fawns in just a few days.  The vet said he thought it was crypto and sent tissue samples in for testing.  I will try to find out more info.

If it stinks and is a creamy consistency it may be e.coli. It can bring up neurological issues like you are describing. Will often cause temperature swings and can be treated with pen both IM and oral.

This rainy weather always seems to bring out disease!! It could be ecoli like ryan said or coccidia like adam said, Get a stool sample to your vet asap!! I would lean towards ecoli, There are treatments so a stool sample is important! It has rained here in northeastern Pa for the last 4 days on and off, This weather is a breeding nightmare for rumen attacking bugs! Especially if you keep your deer on bottomland. I think I forgot what the sun looks like!!  Good Luck!!

Neeby. I am in south eastern pa and you are right. Rain and clouds. Come on sun, dry things out for us!!!

We are also located in Pa and we are experiencing the same issue. We have had several the past few years with the same symptoms. Our vet told us it was coccidiosis. He told us to treat with pennicillian and SMZ for as many consecutive days as we could catch them. Some will respond well and some will unfortanlty not make it. In order to save them you have to catch it very early as soon as we see a wet tail or signs of a wet tail ( curled hair around the base) we start treating. Wet tail and wobble are the first sign.
