what wormers are acceptable to use this time of year considering pregnant does....... does anyone use Safe-Guard 1000 Swine 0.9% and if so how would you mix....

Rick, We use Ivormec plus when we run the deer thru in mid feb. then we have used safegaurd 3x recommended label instructions. This is only what we do and I would recommend asking your vet or a vet with experience with deer first. Rick in your case just hollar at Dr. Stewart he has always answered any ? for me! Good Luck, Good to see you and your wife at NADEFA enjoyed our visit as always!

I have and i also use safegaurd in a flake form mixed in with there feed with a little extra molases to make sure it sticks to the feed. This seems to work better than the pellets were they can pick around them. This way there is no picking around the pellets they have to eat it because it sticks rite to the feed.

Do any of you use ivomec pour on in their feed?

About every other time I worm through feed, I put the pour on over corn and let it dry and then hand feed over about three days. It's been pretty effective for me that way.

I used to worm every 6 wks, march through December here in Ohio, alternating between Safeguard crumbles and Vblazen (sp?) liquid poured over feed.

I've recently learned that too much worming can be bad, actually mutating the worms to be resistant to the wormer. A vet recommended checking for worms before worming,a very cheap fecal test, and then worming accordingly.

Hope this helps.
