I had some doe and three bucks get out of one of my pens today. I have plenty of telazole but Im out of Xylazine and I have a call in to the vet but will most likely not be able to get any until monday is there any subsitute I can use for for Xylazine to mix with the Telazol. Please reply ASAP if there is even such a thing Thanks Ed

You could use succostrin, but the dosage rate is very critical and if you don;t have it, most likely you can't get it till Monday either.

Just in case you could get succostrin it is not mixed with telazol but used alone.

It's also a very bad drug for beginners or really anyone without experience with the drug to use and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Can you try to open some pens that have no deer in them. Most deer will come back in the night if they have been at your place for awhile.

I would wait till Monday and get the right product.

Wish you the best of luck in getting them back.

Good point Jack, I didn't even think someone would consider using it with telazol. Mixing Telazol with a sterile solution will anesthisize the deer, but because there are no beta-blockers from the xylazine normally mixed with it, the deer will convulse wildly and its gheart will have a difficult time keeping a good rhythem. I too would wait till I could get the drugs you are familiar with and like Jack said, leave the gate open to an empty pen.

I was able to get some from another deer farmer, he was very sympathetic to the situation.Once again I love how the deer farming family pulls through to help each other
