Xylazine withdrawal time

This is a cattle question, I had to dart a stubborn steer we have this weekend, i didnt want to, but he just would not go into the barn. We must have tried over 50 times this winter to get him in, he is the only one that would not. I gave him 1cc of 300mg xylazine just enough to calm him enough to make it possible to work with him, that wasnt enough so i hit him again with the same amount and he went out completely.

Anyways, we are going to be butchering him asap, but I need to know the withdrawal time for slaughter, I cant find my box that had all the lables which my vile of xylazine was stored in. So I was looking to see if someone wouldnt mind reading the withdrawal time off their lable and letting me know what it says, i cant seem to find it wrote down anywhere online either. Thanks.

G'day Antlershed.

Down here, the meat withholding period is 28 days.

Cheers Sharkey

The only thing I could find in the instructions and on the box was that it states that this drug should not be administered to domestic food-producing animals and do not use in cervidae less than 15 days before or during the hunting season. Other than that I don't see anything that pertains to that. I am looking at the 100mg per ml and not the 300mg per ml though.

Ok thanks for looking, I think i am going to call my vet as well, just to see what he has to say about it. I wonder why it does not have instuctions for cattle, people eat deer all the time that were darted to be transported, its never made anyone sick that i am aware of, at least not enough to hear about it in the papers or on the news.
