We have a yearling born August 7th 2011 and he has never grew his buttons nor his antlers this year as the rest of them have.He is much smaller in size than any of the other yearlings. He looks like a doe if you look at his head but he is clearly a buck by ***. Has anyone ever had this problem before? Will he ever grow antlers?

I have the same kind of thing right now. I had a single buck fawn born super late. He looks to be starting some antler right now. Two of my bigger yearlings are about to split G2s. I would just wait him out. Antlers are a secondary thing. He has to get his bone structure built bf he will do anything good with his antlers. I am guessing he will not do much more than maybe a spike/fork horn this year, but he should catch up as a 2 year old.

I agree with Jared, That has been our experience with realy late born fawns like mid august is when ours were born a couple years back.
