    Ehd Supplement Feed

Has anyone used "Maximizer Plus Feed Supplement" from Real World Wildlife Products? A friend of mine told me about it. It is supposed to reduce EHD in deer herds. He said since he started feeding it to his deer he hasn't lost a single one. Before he started it he had lost close to 20. Just...

    EHD

I am wanting to know what deer farmers with small farms are doing to prevent EHD in their herds. Is there something to keep the midges from coming to the farm? Is there a spray available that really works? What about vaccines to prevent EHD?

It's time to start thinking about the dreaded E word...EHD....Every year I get calls from deer farmers late in the summer looking for help, they are losing deer to EHD... Give them a fighting chance, start a fogging program well in advance to build up a no fly zone from the midge fly. I have the...

    EHD in Indiana

Sadly again we are starting to lose deer again from the EHD virus in Indiana. A gentleman on another forum suggested that deer farmers should take the time to notify the Department of Fish & Wildlife if we are sustaining losses to the virus. I agree. Our deer herds are a "canary in the coal...

EHD Time to start battling it NOW

You can battle, kill and stay ahead of the EHD midge fly with the proper chemicals and equipment. I have a farm that is located in the southeast corner of Alabama. Being this far south I battle EHD every year. I have won the war against it, the proper chemical, chemical strength and applicator...

Are cattle a carrier of the EHD virus?

I am trying to get info on how the EHD virus survives the winter in cold climates. I know that cattle are a reservoir host for the EHD virus. I would like to know if they are also a carrier in which the virus can harbor and resurface after winter. I am seeking an explanation of this. It is my...

    EHD weather in Montana

EHD should not be an issue here as we had a inch of snow last night and temps will be freezing at night for two more days.  I will rest easy for this year. The old saying here is if you don't like the weather just wait a day and it will change.  I saw the temperature change from minus 30 to...

    EHD Questions

We are dealing with EHD.  Some of my deer are getting lumps under their jaws between where the V.  Sometimes it appears and is gone the next day and comes back later.  I'm no biologist or vet but Dr Ables tells in big words that they are from proteins  as a result of EHD.  Anyone experience this...

New program to pay for EHD losses

I just found out about a new program today that will pay for any losses that a producer may have had due to EHD since October 2011.  I am not sure exactly what the payment rate will be, looks to not be a huge amount but could be up to $500/head.  Message me if you have any questions and I can...
