I've got a question does anyone know where we can buy Ehd vaccine without paying threw the nose. I had my vet look for me and he came up with one place out of texas. You had to become a member of their association for $100 a year and then it was over $7.00/dose seems a bit much
I don't want to frighten anyone, but with the warm winds blowing, at least here in Texas. I remember last year, when warm/strong winds out of the South brought in an early onset of EHD. 2011 was a year for the record books and one nobody wants to go through again. EHD hit already weak deer...
I'm shopping hard for some deer right now. Our ranch is in Llano Texas. I've heard that northern genetics in texas is highly susceptible to EHD. If I have some deer that are southern genetics and some that are northern, and the northern get EHD, will that spread to the southern deer? via...
With the next season of EHD coming up I would like to know who is making up the Mo. vaccine? Will producers have to order in advance and how do I get on the order sheet?
Montana has been hit hard with EHD in the wild herds and I would expect it to get worse in 2012. I was not hit this year...

I heard today that a well known deer breeder in Northampton co., Pa lost half his herd to EHD. It could be rumor I do not know but if it's true I fear for my fledgling herd.
Last year, the Deer Breeders Corporation worked with Newport Labs and Drs. Dedwylder and McBride to create an EHD/BT vaccine for DBC members. The DBC sold out of the vaccine earlier this year, but more will be available at the end of this month. The DBC is now taking pre-orders for the...
Vaccinated my yearling doe last week (in that terrible IL heat! yes... we had no choice)... Two sub-Q shots above her shoulder blade. She didn't flinch. For two to three days she was lethargic and had a poor appetite. Now she is back and eating up everything (thank Goodness) in sight!

Could someone explain how a deer develops an antibody imunitie to ehd after it has been infected,(and survives healthy,) and how one would test to see if indeed the deer has developed an imunitie to it and can this be passed onto offspring.
Thanks,
Jim

Do deer get booster shots and if so, how frequently, please?
thank you.
I posted months ago that the anticipation of a busy hurricane season would push EHD into the Southeast United States and Mexico. It has happened. I have been recieving reports of EHD from people in S. Texas. If you are spraying/fogging, etc. You may want to step up your efforts. If NAWPS can...
