Our AI date is Nov. 10 - we'll see how our sexed semen performs. We have so many great bucks this year we are mostly using all our own semen in our Blue MT. Bill daughters, Rex daughters, High Roller girls and of course the Jack the Ripper does.

Thank You Lord Were Done, CIDRS went in OCt 8th came out 4:00am Oct 25th AI on Oct 27 9:00am.. All does looked great, all semen looked good, all deer recovered fine..Vet says all deer should be prenant..... 92% last year hoping again for 100%

CIDRS in on 15 Oct pulled them last night at 2200 and will AI on 1 Nov at 0800. Keeping our fingers crossed that all goes well and most will stick! Good luck everyone!

Well our AI is done!!! Started about 8:30 AM yesterday and did 90+ deer and we were done a little past noon. We figured about 2 minutes each in the chute. Now the long wait until spring to see how successful we were. We've always averaged around 75% or better.

I live bred with a buck that might give me pieds, he has pied parent but he is brown. I always wanted a pied so i am a hopeful for at least one next year.

Antlershed, you probably will not get pied fawns. The way we understand it, the pied gene is actually dominant to the brown. So if you have a brown deer he is probably a double recessive brown gene. Each adult has two genes for color and each passes one on to their offspring. A double recessive brown will have a brown deer. A dominant pied gene and a recessive brown gene will yield a pied deer. I believe this is the same for the white deer. At least this is the theory we have done our breeding on and it has held up.

I hope I'm going the right way with my breeding.
