dont think so, we had animals with EHD before and there are many different symptoms, principal sympton EHD we detect is fever and no coordination movements, and thongue ulcers,

I think this is something different, about the respiratory tract, we moved these animals, to another place which is very very sandy and is always windy , soo:confused::confused:

and about the kidneys and intestine injuries,:confused:

with no diahrrea, and no fever,!:confused:

and the animal died just in few hours!!;

My guess is clostridial disease as you indicate it came on very fast and looks something like this. In my opinion it is too late for EHD in most states as the midge flys are gone as they have died from frost. Have her tested for clostridial disease and go from there.

we had a buck fawn with same symptoms we put 2cc draxxin 1 banamine 3cc la200 orally 2cc b complex orally next day 2cc colstridium antitoxin b c d 2cc ultrabac c d an 2cc banamine he is fine now let us know of your findings thanks sorry about your loss

Clostridia won't cause that much hemorrage in the other organs, only darkening of the intestines and often sudden death. There is definitely some enteritis, with the necrotic section shown and the dark areas of intestine. And pneumonia, with the darkening of the lung tissue, but I think Scott is right, that much hemmorage throughout would make me suspect EHD. The other ailments are probably the ultimate COD, but I would bet that EHD was the first problem, and the others are secondary. EHD can be somewhat chronic, in that they can have exposure when the flys are present, be fighting it on their own for a while without any real distinct symptoms, and then the immune system finally gets worn down enough that the other problems can get a foothold. What you described with the tongue ulcers, sounds more like blue tongue than EHD.

anyone know how long EHD can be dormant or just incubating or is this just a case of it killing slowly?

in my opinion, I had 4 cases this summer, and they died between 2-3 day after we detect´em

What the photos show is very similar to the animals we necropsied with strain 6 EHD. Did you remove any of the skin of the animal? If so, you most likely saw some "candy striping" on the sub dermal tissue...........EHD

yes, i removed but, didnt see any candy striping

, this is kind of weird cuz, the animal apparently was okay,, any symptoms days before, only one day, but,,:(:confused:
