Had one doe give birth today, Maxbo Hardcore/PJ-Reggie....unfortunately she had 4 fawns 2 were severly underdeveloped and dead, the 3rd appeared to be fully developed but was either born dead or died very quickly (we were at church this morning) I feel lucky to have a healthy buck fawn knowing what else was being carried in this doe with the underdeveloped babies...

Rick,

Congratulations on your AI results. It hurts to see the loss but we have all been their we just have to try our best. Happy you choose the best place to be this morning.

We had our first snow babies born during the night last night, duramax/noble combination. They seem fine, pulled tonight due to frigid temperatures.

Here is a set of twin buck fawns we had 5 - 4 - 10, and the farther to the fawns. I did not realize this thread was on here. We still have a few more does to have.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments, in 5 fawning seasons this is the first time we have had a dead fawn born or die after birth, I am just counting my blessings to have been blessed with such a track record

First was born this morning. It's a doe. She was still wet and was shivering so I tucked her into my coat till she warmed up and dryed off some. Momma came over and was licking her face while I was holding her. (love those bottle feds) Momma then laid down right in front of me so I put the baby on to nurse. Fawn was still with her when I went back to check half hour later. Sunny today, but breezy. Supposed to get down below freezing again tonight with rain starting tomorrow morning. I'll probably pull fawn tonight. Hope the rest put off a couple more days. Rain next three days. Then nice weather. Good Luck all with your fawning.

Drew, nice fawns, that should be a great looking whitebuck in the next three years with that buck as the sire.

Thanks Rick, hope all your fawns are doing good. Didn't pull fawn till last night. Rain put off till evening, so pulled her then. 8 lbs. Took her first bottle like a champ this morning. Thank goodness, hate the ones that are stubborn. The 24 hr mark is when I start to panic. Usually that's when they suck the bottle right down. And they say "Haha, showed you" to me. Hope everyones fawns are fat and healthy. You have some great genetics out there. My little girl is out of Zieglers Rocket and my Thunder on the doe side.
