Nice deer Fred,

Here is a picture of Highway 10 this year at age 5. Looks bigger and taller so far. He may get REALLY tall! His brows look decent! They were 15 last year!

Sam, I've been waiting on a picture of Highway 10 and he didn't disappoint. I love his look. When can we see another picture of Rolex by 10 and Tug Mcgraw. I can't wait to see Timberjack.

First 2 pictures are of King Kong today June 29th as a 2 year old. 3rd picture is of King Kong June 29th 2009 as a yearling last year and 4th picture is him in August 2009 finished out as a yearling. As shown in the 2 yearling pictures he is for sure a late bloomer and made huge antler growth in July and August last year. I'm really holding my breath and hoping he does the same this year. The overall condition of his body is improving daily and he really just started to grow in June. He had little growth in May and his body was very poor. The 1.5 inch wide exit hole from the high powered gunshot wound has totally healed as can be seen in picture #2. The wound was exiting the front of his right shoulder. Considering the extreme trauma, infection and weeks of 105+ temperatures King Kong faced last winter, I feel that he is growing really good. What do you guys think about this situation. Any advice that could help his progress would be great. I have him in a 5 acre new pen with Energizer. He is the more dominate buck and they get along well. His feed consumption is down to only about 3.5-4 lbs a day. Rolls Royce and Legacy are eating over 6 lbs a day of the same feed. They get treats and also have a nice food plot to graze. I put promitherin on his antlers every other day as I do for all my deer to keep the bugs off at night. He is getting a good probiotic supplement and has been wormed regularly. His stools are good and he appears to be stress free for the most part. Again any experience that someone else has to offer with these trauma type situations could help. We have had deer for a long time but I am learning something new all the time. Hopefully time will fix this problem along with a lot of TLC. Again my first concern is his body. His antlers are bigger then last years but I know he has lost a lot of potential.

Jr. he is STILL a great deer. There is no telling what he could have been this year with out being shot. He looks to be rebounding well. Congrats to you guys. Just more proof that with lots of work and Gods help anything is possible.

Michael, thanks for the encouragement. God is everything! Thanks for mentioning that as well.

Russ,

Dont get your hopes down just thank god he he still living and doing well You got some gret bucks there.

Iadeer thanks a lot i appreciate it a lot.

Wow Russ, Energizer is looking darn good! To bad he had to be hiding the other day when I was out. Those daughters of his are doing really well. It's funny you mentioned Romeo, because I was contemplating breeding one of the Romeo/Malibu/Rocket/Holly daughters I have to the other straw of Energizer I got for this year. That would make for an interesting breeding for sure!
