Here is a idea of what we were thinking our handling facility is going to be on our new farm. I was wondering what everyone thought about it? We are open to all opinions please. Let us know the pros and cons to this set up. We were planning on having a 24'x24' building. The green box is the drop chute. Let us know. Thanks!

Hey just scaled off your layout real quick and this is what I came up with. It scaled to about a 24'X32' building. I added the dimensions so that people could see the sizes. If you let me know if you want to stay with the 24'X24' I could modify this to suit if you want. Couple of the sizes are just not economical when it comes to actually building this though. I would go with 4' wide alley way before the chute and also the sick pens are a little weird on size. Also the fawn boxs I would make bigger 2'X2'-5" isnt very big for the fawns I would go with 4'X4' so you could have more room and also have them in with a buddy. Just some thoughts (i am no pro).

add dimensions , a lot there for such a small building. but does look like you have every thing covered. mechanical room, water heater ,preasure tank .furnace.sink

maybe it is just me, but it seems all of your deer going thru the facility are going around the sick deer. Wouldn't you want to keep them seperate if possible?

I'm the last person to second guess anyone, but the sick room area and and fawn pens being so close would have me concerned. Again I'm so new I do not even have my pens yet so I'm also looking for advice and ideas for my first layout of my entire farm.

I'm with dearjohn, I have a 24 square, and I wondering where I would put everything you have in there. Looks good with suggestions from others on sick bay. The other thing not accounting for door openings and etc that all have to be accounted for space. I have only handling in mine, c shaped outside walls used race way (stalls), sliding doors, squeeze similar location as yours and just barely get it done. Had to put a 16' on 24' wide foot addition on to complete lab like your design. Good luck Verify scale
