New Fawns, WOW What do I Have Here!

Just had our first fawns today and man I must say what a surprise. I could not believe my eyes when I got out to them. A Piebald buck fawn out of Dream Maxin (Maxin on Y66, maybe the most notorious Blue 37 daughter out of Maxbo ever) on a High Roller doe. WOW, look at his markings. Anyone know of a Maxin, Maxbo, Blue 37, or High Roller fawn that is Piebald? Just wondering where it came from.

Anyone looking for a piebald Buck fawn with a stacked pedigree give me a call.

He is for sale He will be bottle fed with all of the rain we have had, I am not taking any chances.

Here is the definition of a piebald. I do not know? This is just what I read and researched on the internet. Is this a piebald? Can some tell me???

Piebald Deer
- Most, if not all piebald deer have white legs and a white underbelly, while the rest of the body may be either completely or partially covered with patches or spots, usually reddish brown or gray on white. A few piebald deer are mostly, though usually not completely white, and may be mistaken at times for albino deer.

Midwest,

You don't have trouble with thier ears hanging ?..... using those nice size tags ? Just asking because there ears may flop down ...I use goat tags then replace them when they get older .

Eric here is a full sister to Maxbo Supreme... Romeo fawns any day now!!!

Eric, those are pied markings in my book and I would have to bet one of the better if not the best pied buck pedigrees in the country. If I were a pied producer I would be all over that. Congrats and good luck keeping them alive

:)

Thanks Roger, I think the pedigree is pretty good too. The mother to the High Roller doe has a 287" two year old in PA.

Mira vista, I have used the same ear tags for 4 years now and have not had any trouble with them yet. They are the smallest Y Tex full number ear tags I can find.

Nick I do not know what I want $ for him. I may just keep him. He will make an interesting conversation piece. As well as he might be the biggest Piebald in the country in a couple of years?

I believe the color wears off a little as they get older, but ask Amos Kaufman about what she looked like as a fawn. A buddy of mine had a pied buck out of Undertaker so it seems that something from that Angus/Chief line is producing pied offspring.

I agree with Sandridge, the tags we use are twice that size and we have never had a problem with the ear. Other deer chewing the tags is another matter.

Eric, What a Beautiful Pied, with pedigree to match. I agree with Wild Rivers that the color will not fade. We own several pied and white deer and they always amaze me. Congratulations !! Allen

some things just don't need to be explained nor do they need to be over analyzed! LOL. You may have the first Pie out of those breeding's / genetics. What a rare find congrats and enjoy!

Bigger tags easier to see when they grow up.......that is the size I use....I hate the smaller tags......when they get older it is hard to identify them from far away......just my opinion.

Very cool Eric, you have to admit you were having fun when you found that fawn. Isnt this industry great? Always full of surprises, some good and some not so good.

Eric, I beleive piebalds have shown up from some Maxbo semen over the years. No one knows why, but they just have. About the color, the colors don't change. The marking don't change either, they stay the same forever.

I would be interested in talking with you about this fawn. I have some great does that would be a nice mix with him. I was the original owner of Patch, Morton and SV Zeus. Sv Zeus is an RCM Noble son, and has produced some really good does for me. They sure would go nice with this little guy. Give me a call when you get a chance. 304-288-4090.

Eric, Could you post more pictures when he's older and standing. I think when he's standing it would really show off his markings. I would also be interested in seman from this little guy if he's ever collected.
