I am looking for info on Happy Jack, Hatchet Jack , Bob Buck, Ben Buck, Big Buck, Psycho, Jones Buck, Aden Buck and Powerstroke.I have done a search and have come up empty. I have looked on Whitetail Quest as well. I would like pics and pedigrees for each of these bucks. If anyone has any of this info I would be grateful for it.

Thanks,

BWS

The ability to get the kind of information your looking for comes when you buy from farms who keep good records, take lots of photos, use DNA, and promote and advertise.

Good luck, I hope you find out what you are needing.

I have posted before that it would be nice to have pixs and info on alot of bucks and thier stats before.

While Whitetail Quest is an excellent source for info and most pictures......How ever there are a ALOT of deer that folks are looking for in older pedigrees that may have came BEFORE..........Promotion,Advertising and Hype!!

There are MANY lines out there both past and present that have proven production LLLLLOOOOONNNNGG before folks had the modern day luxery of a sale catalog available to advertise animals in.

Just because an animal has not had alot of publicity certainly doesn't mean they may not be producing. Many are still being produced even today that go un-noticed by the guy that may fail to do his homework before he or she buys an animal that has many more glossy pictures of him... than of his sons or daughters and proven offspring! Just my 2 cents:)

I don't know Wayne if I agree with that completely. Yoder did a good job of documenting pedigrees and pictures of bucks like Redoy Magnum and Redoy Bill and those are old time breeders. I do agree that years ago pedigrees and pictures were much less used, but those who took the industry serious still did provide info to their customers.

Hey Roger, I agree but you also have to admit thier are ALOT of BIG deer that are raised and have been raised that never gave a photo a second thought and then lost that animal and had very little to pass on to buyers except for the pens of super nice offspring and who also don't realize how big of a deal it can be. I know several Amish deerfarmers who have consistantly raised more 300"+ deer year in and year out than most who only throw "BIG" bucks at the catalogs to promote a limited amount of sucsess! I have one less than 10 miles from me who lets his piles of cut antlers promote his farm. Not saying advertising and providing folks with as much info when they purchase deer is not important.......Just not tops on some farms list!:)

Oh yes Wayne I agree there are big bucks and farms that years ago didn't have the ability to take photos or who never realized in the old days it was something that should be done to make a record.

But as to those who raise big deer now in these modern times and don't take pics or keep good records they are the ones who I don't understand. I know there are folks raising big bucks who don't take pics or keep good records. But they have big deer, I don't dispute that. What I am saying is why do business with them though if getting records and pics to keep your own records up to date is hard to impossible.

I would rather do business with you by buying semen from your bucks and then having pics and pedigrees to add to and to update my own records with each year. Rather than from someone who never provides that information.

Maybe I am not making myself clear. We can chat about it at the sale next week. Travel safely. :)

I would think a guy that is in the breeding, selling doe's and entering auctions part of the deer business would have to keep great records, pic's and full pedigrees but the guy that is just growing great shooters and is mabey not involved in the thrills might not keep good records on stuff. Some of those names i have never heard of which im sure some of you guys have. I would think if they were good lines back then some of you guys that have been in this along time would know something of them!!!!! Wayne have you figured out which motel you guys are staying?? I am waiting for a return call from jacob. Not sure if we are picking them up yet!!!!

Apollo 13 is a buck that people have not heard of for a while. He was 165" @ 1. A son of Big Jake/ Drifters womb sister. He has faded from the limelight and it has been hard to keep track of him. I recieved a poor pic. of him in 2010 and pics of a yearling son in Texas. I talked to a friend who said he saw Apollo this year in with Big Ben. Ben was bigger but was blown away by Apollos mass. It is very hard to find info on many of these deer for alot of our friends do not take pics and they do not have computers, do to personal reasons. Now I had just got lucky to find out what I did based on the fact I saw someone else besides me had Apollo 13 does on their website. Good luck and I hope you find something on those bucks. Big Buck could possibly be "Big B" an Avalance son? Eldon

Hatchet Jack was in Canada and if I am not mistaken, Gary and Jane Nelson would know a lot about him. ____WAYNE_____ I loved that you used the word "HYPE". Needs to be used more.
