2014 Antler Page

War Chest broke a drop tine on his left beam...When I knocked him down I was impressed with the amount of bone he had. He has the most mass of any two year old we have raised here at Red Ridge Whitetails. I took a picture with a propane bottle for perspective.


 


War Chest's left beam at the end measured 6 inches ACROSS. Pretty amazing these guys can grow this and carry it around at just 2 years old. He scored, very conservatively, over 300 with a bit of growing left to do. Though his back tines are starting to point out his beams and drops are going strong.  Not bad for a 140 inch yearling last year!

VERY nice yearling from Terry McCullion (Overlook Deer Farm)  He is out of Freak (Chanllow Farms Breeder) and one of Terry's proven does "Socks" She is a Lonewood doe.


 


Freak is Big Sir/Romeo son  You can see the Big Sir in this yearling!  Freak is also womb brother to Caveman 2nd pic below (3 weeks ago)

King Tea @ 1 Texas Tea/ Kingpin/Elijah (hannah's 3/4 sister). He is sporting a 7x7 frame with a lot of growing left as you can see. This guy's frame has us very excited!

 
Randy, do you have any offspring left from your buck you had a few years ago named Mika? The one you had from Jeff Graham's farm. I am just curious how his offspring did for you. Thanks

I only have to does out of Miken in my breeding program.

Got the first buck fawns from them this year.


Miken produced very well for us his 2yr olds scored around 170 and 3yr olds 240 most with 6x6 frames but we lost almost everything in 2012 from EHD and had to start over. We do have a few straws left we may use in the future.


He would have crossed well with Running Wild.

Running Wild is out of his womb sister correct?
 
Yes. Bell is her name. She is at a farm only 30 miles from me, she's gotta be getting old. The guy won't ever sell her unfortunately because I really want her. She has never had a son score under 210" as a two year old. And made several 300" sons.
 
Sam, do you think Payday will make it over 200"??? He looks great, I love the thickness of his typical tines. I think that is one of the things that is deceiving about his antlers. They are so thick all the way around you cannot get a good perspective as to how long the tines are. How long do you estimate his G1 and G2's are? I love all the pictures, as I have said before, I feel like a kid in a candy shop looking at all of these antlers!!

I have an ice cream shop in Jefferson City that serves the best milk shakes in the world. Every time I get close to the area, my truck seems to get a mind of its own and simply steers its self right to the shops front door. I can't explain it. It just happens. Well now I have a the same thing happening in my deer pens. Everytime I go into the pens to take pictures of all the deer my camera just gets a mind of its own and starts taking pictures of one deer. I can't explain it. Sorry everyone!

These are two of the first yearlings I have. There is one more I like but he was shy, guess there not used to a camera yet :)


W45 is from the first doe I ever bought( well I bought them all basically the first year) and this is her first offspring. For just starting I am just happy that they are all alive and healthy. 


Both yearlings are sons of "Ticket" our farm breeder. Pretty sure he is growing his biggest rack to date.

Sam it's ok we understand. He is only one of the best looking bucks in the world, so your camera don't have much choice, lol.

Toms, congrats. Your off to a great start with those yearlings.
 
I have been to SAMs and seen payday in person and the pictures do him no justice! He is the real deal, a giant! He is a huge body deer as well and carries his antlers great.
